ABOUT THE LØVGENSER:
The Løvgenser is knitted from the bottom up in a colourwork pattern. The body is first worked in the round on circular needles before being divided into the front and back. The front and back are then worked separately back and forth in stockinette stitch following the colourwork pattern. The shoulders are seamed together from the wrong side, creating a neat edge along the shoulders.
Stitches are set aside on both the front and back to form the neckline. Stitches are then picked up around the neckline, and the neckband is worked in ribbing. Finally, stitches are picked up around the armholes and the sleeves are knitted.
GAUGE:
13 stitches = 10 cm on 7 mm needles in the colourwork pattern
RECOMMENDED NEEDLE SIZES:
6 mm circular needles (80 cm and 40 cm) for ribbing
7 mm circular needles (80 cm and 40 cm)
